An article co-authored by lawyer Fernando Naegele was published today on the Jota website – a Brazilian electronic newsletter specialized in legal topics – about the suspension by the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (“ANPD”) of the updated version of the Meta’s Privacy Policy, which established the possibility of using personal data for AI training.
The authors noted the importance of the suspension in the current Brazilian scenario, with the upcoming G20 in Rio de Janeiro, to discuss the context of the decision, its relevance to AI regulation in the country, and the need for a technical and equitable approach by the ANPD.
