On July 14, 2023, the article “Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDD): challenges and perspectives”, authored by associates Matheus Lamarca and Shayenne Freitas, was published in the Environment, Technology and Sustainability book of the IV International Congress on Law and Artificial Intelligence (IV CIDIA).
The research in question delves into the realm of corporate sustainability and aims to investigate the current legislative and regulatory landscape in both Brazil and Europe concerning obligations related to human rights and the environment. This endeavor is undertaken through an analysis of the key aspects presented in the European Union Directive Proposal on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence – CSDD. Furthermore, the research encompasses an examination of the relevant legislations on the subject matter in Brazil, as well as an analysis of the ongoing legislative proposals in the Brazilian National Congress.
Organized by Skema Law School Brasil, with the support of the National Council for Research and Graduate Studies in Law (CONPEDI), IV CIDIA is a scientific event that aims to discuss the various relationships between the legal world and technology, represented by artificial intelligence and related ethical and human issues. In its fourth edition, the event had the contribution of more than three hundred researchers from nineteen Brazilian states.
