Today, the Ministry of Finance published Ordinance n. 1,475/2024 (“Ordinance”), suspending, from October 1, 2024, the services of betting sites that have not submitted their license request to the Ministry of Finance by the date of publication of the Ordinance.
The license, with requirement procedures established in Ordinance n. 827/2024, of May 21, 2024, analyzed in this newsletter, is a necessary condition for providing online betting services in Brazil starting in January 2025.
The Ordinance also determined that betting sites that submitted their license request within the deadline must indicate the trademarks and internet domains to be used for the service by September 30, 2024.
