The book ‘Business Law in Latin America’, organized by professors José Gabriel Assis de Almeida, Érica Guerra da Silva, and João Manoel de Lima Júnior, was published by FGV Direito Rio.
The work is the result of articles presented at the III Latin American Commercial Law Conferences held in October 2015, jointly organized by the Business Law Committee of the Brazilian Institute of Lawyers (IAB) and the ‘Business and Economic Activities’ research line of the Master’s and Doctorate programs in Law at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro – UERJ.
Partner Gustavo Flausino Coelho contributed to the book through the article ‘The convention on combating corruption of foreign public officials in international commercial transactions by the OECD and its impact on fighting corruption in Brazil and Latin America‘, co-authored with Professor Caroline da Rosa Pinheiro.
In the article, the authors analyze the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions and the OECD reports (OECD Foreign Bribery Report), regarding the implementation of anti-corruption rules in Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, to draw an interesting parallel between the legislative framework and the policy developed to create a compliance environment in Latin America.
