On February 15, 2023, began the period for completing and submitting the annual Brazilian Capitals Abroad Statement ("DCBE") to the Brazilian Central Bank ("BCB"), referring to the base date of December 31, 2022.
Individuals or legal entities residing, domiciled, or headquartered in Brazil that hold assets (goods, rights and values) abroad that total an amount equal to or greater than US$ 1,000,000.00 (one million US dollars), or its equivalent in other currencies, on the base date of December 31, 2022, are required to file the DCBE.
It is important to mention that the failure to provide the DCBE, the untimely submission, or the provision of false, incomplete, or incorrect information, inconsistent with the conditions set forth in the BCB regulations, will subject those responsible to a fine of up to R$250,000.00 (two hundred and fifty thousand Reais).
The deadline for submitting the annual DCBE to the BCB ends on April 5, 2023.
